KMP AG was founded in 1988 in Eggenfelden, Bavaria, by Heinz G. Sieg as a GmbH (limited company). Having reached a market-leading status as a full-range supplier of compatible printer consumables, the company was changed into an »Aktiengesellschaft« (public limited company) in 1999.
Under the direction of the experienced duo – Heinz G. Sieg and his son Jan-Michael Sieg – the company turned into one of the European market leaders with over 500 employees. The product portfolio has changed substantially in the past years. The former ribbon producer has grown into a company that embraced the new laser and inkjet printing technologies at the right time. Most of the KMP revenue nowadays is earned with ink and toner cartridges.
